Step 1: Verify Basic Connection Configurations
Step 2: Troubleshoot the Router DHCP Service Status
If the wired connection also fails to get an IP address, it indicates that the router’s DHCP service is disabled. Log in to the router management interface (usually at 192.168.0.1), navigate to the “LAN Settings” or “DHCP Server” section, check the box next to “Enable DHCP Server”, set an IP address allocation range, and save the settings. If the wired connection can obtain an IP address normally but only the wireless network card has the issue, focus on troubleshooting the network card’s IP acquisition settings.
Step 3: Adjust the Network Card’s IP Acquisition Mode
1.Right-click the “Network” icon on your computer desktop and select “Properties”.
2.Go to the “Network and Sharing Center” and click “Change adapter settings” on the left sidebar.
3.Locate the network connection corresponding to the COMFAST USB network card (usually displayed as “Wireless Network Connection X”), right-click it and select “Properties”.
4.In the pop-up window, find “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”, double-click to open its settings interface.
5.Select “Obtain an IP address automatically” and “Obtain DNS server address automatically”, then click “OK” to save the settings.
1.In the same interface, select “Use the following IP address”.
2.Enter an IP address on the same network segment as the router. For example, if the router gateway is 192.168.0.1, you can set the IP address to 192.168.0.150, the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and the gateway to the router’s gateway address.
3.For the DNS server, you can use Alibaba DNS (223.5.5.5) or Public DNS (114.114.114.114).
Step 4: Eliminate Interference and Signal Issues
1.Turn off your computer’s built-in firewall and third-party antivirus software, as some security programs may misjudge the network card driver or network connection requests, resulting in limited connectivity.
2.Check the signal strength via the network card management software. If the signal is weaker than 3 bars, move the network card to an unobstructed location close to the router, avoiding obstacles such as walls and metal furniture.
3.If there are many nearby WiFi signals, log in to the router management interface to change the channel. For the 2.4G frequency band, it is recommended to select channels 1, 6, or 11 to reduce co-channel interference.
Notes
·When manually setting an IP address, make sure the IP is not occupied by other devices. You can check the IP addresses of connected devices through the “Device Management” section in the router management interface.
·Before modifying router settings, it is recommended to take a screenshot of the original configurations. This allows you to restore the settings quickly if any mistakes are made during the modification process.
·If none of the above steps work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the network card driver to rule out driver-related issues.
