Zhengzhou Government Office WiFi Case

Project Background

This solution serves the Qiancheng Sub-district Office in the Zhengzhou Economic Development Zone. With the deepening advancement of information technology, building an efficient and reliable office network has become crucial for enhancing work efficiency and collaboration capabilities. The office premises cover a large area, comprising four above-ground floors and one basement level. The interior primarily features multi-compartment office layouts, resulting in a complex network architecture environment. This places high demands on the coverage quality, stability, and management convenience of the wireless network. The solution design must balance economy and efficiency, meeting the needs of internal staff for both fixed and mobile office work while also providing secure and convenient temporary network access for mobile personnel and visitors.

Core Challenges Analysis

1. Complex Building Structure, High Coverage Difficulty: The building has a large footprint and multiple floors. The dense cubicle offices create numerous wall obstructions, posing challenges for uniform wireless signal coverage and penetration capability.

2. Mobile Office and Continuous Connection Requirements: Office staff frequently move within the building. The network must support automatic, seamless handovers of wireless terminals between access points during movement to ensure uninterrupted critical services, demanding strict seamless roaming functionality.

3. Multi-Service Network Isolation and Access Control: The network must simultaneously support internal office operations and guest access. This requires APs to support multiple SSIDs and implement VLAN segmentation and access control policies based on different SSIDs, ensuring secure isolation between internal and external networks.

4. Centralized Operation and Management Needs: The deployment involves a significant number of APs distributed across a wide area. A unified platform is needed for centralized configuration, monitoring, and management to reduce operational complexity and improve management efficiency.

COMFAST Enterprise Office Building Wireless Coverage Solution

Deployment Plan

1. Overall Network Architecture: A centralized management network architecture employing an “AC Gateway + AP” model is adopted. COMFAST’s core authentication gateway provides unified management and policy distribution for all APs across the network, enabling intelligent operation and maintenance.

2. Scenario-Specific Precision Coverage:

   – Open Office Areas: COMFAST ceiling-mount APs (Model CF-E325N) are deployed. These devices offer wide coverage, stable signals, and high client capacity, making them suitable for high-quality coverage in open spaces.

   – Cubicle/Individual Offices: COMFAST in-wall panel APs (Model CF-E535N) are deployed to achieve “one AP per room” precision coverage. This approach not only ensures full signal strength in each room but also effectively prevents wireless signal interference between adjacent rooms. This panel AP integrates an RJ45 data port and an RJ11 telephone port. During installation, a single network cable can simultaneously provide network and telephone access, greatly simplifying cabling and saving on costs and construction time.

3. Network and Security Policies: The AC gateway is used to create multiple SSIDs, such as for staff and guests, binding them to different VLANs and security policies. This achieves logical network isolation and role-based access control, safeguarding internal data security.

Core Advantages of the Solution

1. Comprehensive High-Speed, Stable Coverage, Uninterrupted Mobile Office: AC-enabled unified scheduling facilitates seamless roaming across areas. Combined with intelligent traffic control and load balancing technologies, it ensures smooth business operations and stable connectivity for personnel on the move and in high-concurrency scenarios.

2. Centralized Visible Management, In-Depth Security Defense: A unified management platform enables convenient operation and maintenance for all APs. Integrated multiple authentication mechanisms, dangerous application/URL identification and filtering, and attack defense functions build an end-to-end secure office network environment.

3. High Cost-Effectiveness and Flexible Scalability: The solution offers various AP form factors, including ceiling-mount and panel types, allowing for flexible selection and combination based on actual scenarios to optimize investment costs. The system architecture features excellent scalability, supporting smooth capacity expansion and upgrades alongside future business growth.

4. Aesthetic Deployment, Convenient Implementation: Ceiling-mount APs are aesthetically pleasing, and panel APs perfectly integrate with standard wall boxes, minimizing visual impact on the office environment. Innovative integrated cabling design further simplifies project implementation, reducing overall deployment costs.
